Removing the hair from the intimate parts is an important routine of almost any woman in the world. According to a recent study, most women partially or fully remove the hair from those parts, but not many of them know the risks associated with it.
According to Andrea Di Maria, who was head of a study published in the American Journal of Obstetrics & Gynecology, shaving your pubic hair can be very dangerous. The study showed that 87% of women pay for intimate pubic hairstyles at cosmetic salons, while 90% of women shave their pubic hair regularly.
The skin in the genital area is very sensitive and shaving it makes small cuts and wounds on the surface which is why women experience itching after the procedure. The human body has a lot of sweat glands under the waist, which means that the genital area is perfect for bacterial growth. As the skin has micro cuts on its surface, bacteria and fungi can enter it and cause further complications. Shaving your pubic hair will also increase the risk of STDs (sexually transmitted diseases).
