Burning a bigger amount of calories than you consume is key for losing weight. However, there is another thing that can accelerate the weight loss process by boosting your metabolism and activating the fat-burning mode of your body.

Recently, the Shahid Sadoughi University of Medical Sciences from Iran conducted a survey which examined cumin’s effects on the process of burning fat. The study was performed on 88 obese or overweight women who were divided into two groups. Both groups had reduced their calorie intake to 500 a day, but one group was given 140 ml. of yogurt with some cumin powder every day. The weight of the participants was measured before and after to determine the proper amount of weight lost.
The results showed that the cumin group has significantly reduced their weight and body fat and have also seen a considerable reduction in their body mass index. Cumin contains phytosterols, compounds which are most likely responsible for its fat-burning effects. It is also a great metabolism booster, which is a crucial thing for losing weight.
The cumin weight loss method is very convenient and it only requires a healthy diet. If you don’t like yogurt, you can add cumin powder to your meals.
How to consume cumin?
The study used 3 gr. of cumin powder in 140 ml. of yogurt, but instead of yogurt, you can add cumin to different dishes. Add it to sautéed or roasted vegetables, sprinkle it on every meal you consume or make a tea from cumin by boiling the seeds in water for about 10 minutes.
